LUMETO ANNOUNCES THE PUBLIC LAUNCH OF THEIR IMMERSIVE SIMULATION LAB, A LEADING REMOTE AND EXPERIENTIAL HEALTHCARE TRAINING SOLUTION
THE COMPANY IS SET TO SHOWCASE THE EFFICACY OF THE PLATFORM AT THE INTERNATIONAL MEETING ON SIMULATION IN HEALTHCARE (IMSH)
JANUARY 14, 2021 (Toronto, ON) – Lumeto, the Toronto-based immersive learning company deploying its learning platform Involve XR to medical and healthcare workers, today announces the public launch of its immersive simulation lab, a leading remote and experiential healthcare training system. Lumeto is set to showcase the remote training system at the international meeting on simulation in healthcare (IMSH). Kicking off tomorrow, the leading scientific conference showcases the latest innovations and best practices in healthcare simulation.
Lumeto’s immersive simulation lab is a flexible mode of training designed to suit the ever evolving training needs of a healthcare organisation. Offering both synchronous instructor-led training and asynchronous self-directed learning, single and multi-user options as well as on premises or fully remote. The evidence based approach is both easy as well as effective. The experience is applicable to professionals across the learning continuum from students at the beginning of their careers to doctors looking to brush up on the latest techniques.
Of particular note, Lumeto is a two time epic megagrant recipient leveraging the latest funding round in Kitware’s pulse physiology engine to incorporate real-time patient feedback. Lumeto’s immersive simulation lab is structured around a virtual and functional ICU environment, complete with physiologically-accurate intelligent patient avatars, interactive equipment, and life-like drug interactions. Integrating the Pulse physiology engine enables the human physiology feedback required to improve the realism of training thereby enhancing the learning experience. Using a series of numerical models that are calculated in real-time and respond to user-interaction, Pulse dynamically delivers accurate patient response to trauma, disease, and treatment.
Alongside Robb Rabito – Senior Director, CHEST Program Development, and doctors: Ali Hafiz, MD – NYU, and Brian S. Kaufman, MD, FCCP – NYU, Lumeto CEO, Raja Khanna, is set to present the results of an IRB approved research conducted in partnership with The American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) on Jan 17th at 1:30PM PST. The study notably illustrated that 25 minutes of training using Lumeto’s InvolveXR experiential learning system improves a medical resident’s skill in a life saving procedure by 26%. The session will elaborate on the flexible modes of training available as a part of Lumeto’s immersive simulation lab.
“The results of our pilot program conducted with participants from The Mayo Clinic, NYU and Wake Forest University was remarkable. The study showed dramatic success with both efficiency and retention within a single 25 minute virtual reality training session. We’re looking forward to discussing the adaptability and ease of deployment of Lumeto’s immersive simulation lab with healthcare leaders at IMSH.” Raja Khanna, CEO, Lumeto.
In addition to the panel, Lumeto will be showcasing their immersive simulation lab at a booth in the exhibit hall throughout the conference. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to demo Lumeto’s solution by performing an intubation procedure on a virtual patient in an oculus headset. An educational session with CHEST as part of IMSH’s learning lab on January 18th at 3:00 PM and lastly at the SimVentor showcase on January 17th at 10:00 AM.
